"Since the jobs that our pre-schoolers will do probably don't exist yet, our priority is to teach them the skills to adapt and inquire and question and cooperate - life skills. So much more useful than rigid concepts such as the alphabet."
~Caroline Bellhouse

SO.......WHY DO WE WANT TO
ENCOURAGE AS MANY FAMILIES AND EDUCATORS AS POSSIBLE TO GET OUTDOORS?
Well, because we believe that nature provides a stimulating and enriching environment for young children to learn and grow.
By bringing children closer to nature, we aim to:
- Foster their curiosity.
- Support cognitive, physical & sensory development.
- Develop a love for the natural world.
- Encourage creativity.
- Develop fine and gross motor skills.
- Create a foundation for lifelong appreciation and connection with the natural world.
- Instill a sense of wonder.
- Teach emotional regulation practices.
Through various age-appropriate activities and experiences, we will encourage children to learn from the beauty and diversity of the natural world.
HOW DO I USE THE NATURE BUNDLES?
Our guides are open-ended, & non-prescriptive. This means the experiences are designed so that you can easily tweak/scaffold the learning experiences to suit your family's unique age/stage and interest. You can't get it "wrong".
WHY SHOULD I USE THE NATURE BUNDLES?
We are seeing higher rates of anxiety and stress in young children than ever before in history. We believe it is time to make learning fun again. We believe it is time to build a generation of children who are strong in their sense of self and wellbeing. Our Nature Bundles are an invitation to BE PART OF a network dedicated to changing these levels of childhood anxiety and stress. We are a growing community of families and educators who believe in the power of nourishing childhood through play and nature connection - and we would love for you to join us on this journey.
WHO SHOULD USE THE NATURE BUNDLES? IS THIS JUST FOR HOMESCHOOLING FAMILIES?
Our Nature Bundles are NOT just for homeschooling families! We have all sorts of families enjoying the Nature Bundles - regardless of schooling choice. The activities suit a variety of education approaches. Our Nature Bundles are for all families and educators who want to connect childhood learning to the natural world.
WHO CREATED THE NATURE BUNDLES?
The team at the We Are Nature Network! We are a network of Early Childhood Teachers, Educators and Mothers who have researched, curated and selected the experiences and resources we love to use with our own children - as well as the children we work with. Read more about us on our About us page.
Our Nature Bundles are
designed to:
- SUPPORT families and teachers with ideas, resources, and inspiration to meet the curriculum via the natural world.
- INSPIRE an entire generation to nurture a deep relationship with nature, community, and self.
- MAKE IT EASY for parents and teachers to provide learning experiences guided by nature.
- NOURISH curiosity, wonder, and awe (and therefore well-being) in connection to the natural world and our learning journey.
-
EXPAND the way we see education by welcoming the natural world as our classroom and as our teacher too.
